Point of Difference e.V. – Volunteer Portal
1. Scope
These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the volunteer portal and all volunteer-related engagements with Point of Difference e.V. (“we”, “us”, “the organization”).
By registering or participating as a volunteer, you agree to these terms.
2. Nature of Engagement
Volunteer activities with Point of Difference e.V. are:
- Voluntary and unpaid
- Not an employment relationship
- Based on mutual trust, responsibility, and shared values
No entitlement to compensation, employment benefits, or future employment is created.
3. Eligibility
To participate as a volunteer, you must:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Be at least 18 years old (unless otherwise specified with parental consent)
- Possess any qualifications required for specific roles
We reserve the right to accept or decline applications at our discretion.
4. Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers agree to:
- Act respectfully, responsibly, and in line with our mission
- Follow all instructions, safety procedures, and organizational guidelines
- Work only within their assigned role and level of competence
- Respect confidentiality and data protection requirements
- Comply with our Code of Conduct and safeguarding policies
Any violation may result in termination of the volunteer engagement.
5. Safeguarding & Conduct
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for:
- Abuse, harassment, discrimination, or exploitation
- Violations of safeguarding or child-protection standards
Volunteers must immediately report any concerns or incidents.
6. Registration & Account Use
If you create an account on our volunteer portal:
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details
- You agree not to misuse the platform or provide false information
- We may suspend or terminate accounts if misuse is detected
7. Training & Participation
Certain roles may require:
- Mandatory training or onboarding
- Background checks or certifications
- Compliance with safety and operational standards
Participation in specific projects is subject to availability and suitability.
8. Withdrawal & Termination
8.1 By the Volunteer
You may withdraw from your volunteer role at any time without giving a reason.
8.2 By the Organization
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your participation if:
- These Terms are violated
- Safety, safeguarding, or operational concerns arise
- Organizational needs change
9. Liability
- Volunteers act at their own responsibility within the scope of their assignment
- Point of Difference e.V. is liable only for intent and gross negligence, in accordance with applicable law
- Volunteers must follow all safety instructions to minimize risks
10. Data Protection
Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws (GDPR).
11. Intellectual Property
Any materials, content, or work created within volunteer activities:
- May be used by Point of Difference e.V. for its purposes
- Must respect copyright and confidentiality rules
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated versions will be published on the website.
13. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.
